'The Color of Grape' photo exhibition at Gerovassiliou winery 12-19 November 2017
The winery Gerovassiliou in collaboration with Blind Pilots presents between 12-19 of November 2017 the photography exhibition ‘The Color of Grape’ in celebration of the European Day of Wine Tourism. The music show Speakeasies Swing Band will be playing live at the opening of the exhibition.

Epanomi is located 25 km south-east of Thessaloniki within the administrative borders of the Municipality of Thermaikos and the Prefecture of Thessaloniki, forming one of the city's coastal suburbs.
The Epanomi region has been continuously inhabited for nearly 6,000 years. Wine-making is attested here for around 1,500 years. In Byzantine times, Era Epanomi was referred to as being a well-known vine-growing region. However, a settlement named "Panomi" was first recorded in a census carried out in 1302.
Visitors will also get the chance to see the Gerovassiliou Wine Museum.
"The collection includes rare and unique pieces dating back to the 18th century, true symbols of the technological advances, high aesthetics and social structures of the era. The stories narrated unfold through the two main Museum collections: the collection of corkscrews, bottles, vessels and utensils for an ancient Greek symposium, and the collection of viticulture, vinification, cooperage and bottling tools.
The Museum was designed and implemented by the professors at the Museology-Cultural Management Postgraduate Program at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Matoula Scaltsa (museologist) and Panos Tzonos (architect)."

Thinking of the theme of the exhibition - the color of grape - I felt this image of a residence in a vineyard lit by the Cycladic sunset colors in dialogue and harmony with its landscape setting captures the idea. Thinking of the location of the exhibition - the Domaine Gerovassiliou - I felt the image represents the beginning of many wineries, starting as small family productions that in time, dedication and love, become proficient and successful wineries.
