Pavilion China on Divisare Atlas of Architecture

A selection of images from the Chinese Pavilion of the EXPO Milano 2015 published on Divisare's Atlas of Architecture.

"The Chinese Pavilion focuses on the three major themes of traditional agricultural civilisation, technology and innovation at the service of agriculture and gastronomic culture. Its architectural design draws inspiration from the concepts of the heavens, the earth and mankind as well as the culture of rice and wheat. The traditional Xieshan pitched roof with nine sloping elements is combined with an avant-garde design to recall a field of waving corn. An oriental garden, the red walls of the Forbidden City and the alleyways of Beijing stretch out in front. This is the second largest foreign pavilion in terms of surface area." - EXPO Guide
