Between 1999 and 2012 I practiced architecture in Greece as a freelance architect as well as with team collaborations.
Timeline of architecture practice:
1999 - 2002: Freelance architect.
2003 - 2004: Architecture associate.
2005 - 2009: Project architect & developer partner at ‘Karatzas Technical Office’. Independent research on integral theory and its application to architecture (2003-2005). Ecovillage Design Educator, a month-long training of trainers organised by the Global Ecovillage Network, endorsed by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research on integral sustainable design (2006-2007).
2009 - 2010: Architect at ‘Karatzas & Pusterla' Office. 32 hrs certified training on bioclimatic analysis with Ecotect software of Autodesk; 58 hrs training on 3D Studio Max 2010 software, Autocad Architecture, V-Ray and Photoshop.
2011: Project architect at ‘Karatzas | Hassan | Papakonstantinou' Studio.
2012: Head architect at ‘Karatzas Architects’. 60 hrs certified training on ‘Building Energy Inspectors’ organised by the Greek National Technical Chamber; 40 hrs training on Parametric / Adaptive design with Rhinoceros and Grasshoper software.

In 2012 I stopped practicing architecture and started training in fine art and architectural photography, spending the next two years building up my photographic portfolio. In 2014 I launched Pygmalion Karatzas Photography.
